Mayweather gets $20 Million

From the AP:

LOS ANGELES (Associated Press) - Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a champion boxer and has tested his moves on "Dancing With the Stars." Now the man many consider the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is preparing to drop the gloves and do some wrasslin.'

A $20 million payday awaits the undefeated WBC welterweight champion when he takes on Big Show as part of WWE's "WrestleMania XXIV" at Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on March 30.

"It's entertainment. You have a chance to just be you and do what you want to do," Mayweather said Monday after a chaotic Staples Center event that masqueraded as a news conference.

$20 fucking million! By my rough math he would have to add 400,000 buys at $50 to earn his keep. No way. Big waste of cash. From what I hear this barely gets any play on the sports stations in the states.

Vince is trying to recreate the publicity generated 10 years ago when he brought in Tyson for WM14. The problem is nobody cares about boxing today, let alone Floyd Mayweather. I'll admit the angle got off to a good start only because of the hardway shots Big Show took at NWO. For it to be believable though, Big Show would have to destroy Floyd in a wrestling match. Unfortunately, at a $20 million pricetag I don't see Mayweather doing the job. Which is too bad for Big Show. You take a year off, drop a hundred pounds, come back in good shape and get beat by a scrawny little boxer at WrestleMania. The real kick in the balls is that Show wont get anywhere near the money Floyd will get, when he's the one doing all the work.
